Kinematic Equations
Kinematics describes the motion of objects without considering the forces that cause the motion. The kinematic equations relate displacement, velocity, acceleration, and time for objects moving with constant acceleration.
The Three Kinematic Equations
\(v = v_0 + at\)\(s = v_0 t + \frac{1}{2}at^2\)\(v^2 = v_0^2 + 2as\)\(s = \frac{1}{2}(v_0 + v)t\)\(s = vt - \frac{1}{2}at^2\)

Example
A car accelerates from rest (v₀ = 0) at 2 m/s² for 5 seconds. Using v = v₀ + at:
\(v = v_0 + at = 0 + (9.8)(3) = 29.4 \, \text{m/s}\)
